Haitian families in Springfield are under siege.
About 15,000 Haitians live in Springfield. Since their temporary protected status ended on July 27, ICE agents have detained dozens of Springfield Haitians at gas stations, shopping plazas, and apartment complexes, including two pastors. Others have been ordered to wear ankle monitors. Families are afraid to leave home, and churches, neighbors, and local groups are delivering food, covering rent, and driving kids to school.
If you care about Haitian families in Springfield:
Give to the Haitian Support Center. It's run by and for Springfield's Haitian community, and it offers legal help, English classes, and an emergency fund for families hit by detention and deportation.
